Lila E. “Judy” Matty, 96, of Alliance, died March 3, 2010, at the Doylestown Health Care Center. Lila was born June 5, 1913, in Wooster, to the late Harry S. and Lydia Melvina “Mellie” Grable. She was a homemaker and a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ and the Milton Street Garden Club, Alliance. Surviving are a son, James R. (Teresa) Matty of Doylestown; grandchildren, Ani (John) Nichol, James (Lauren) Matty, and Jamie Matty; and great-grandchildren Jacob, Matthew, and Zachary Nichol. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Matty; brothers, Demsey, Orland, and Roy Alton Grable, and an infant brother; and sisters, Mary Swinehart, Hilda Bowman, Pauline Sparr, and Erma Hodgen. Services were held March 6, 2010, at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Wooster, with Rev. Paul Lintern officiating. Interment was in Congress Cemetery.
