Raymond McCormick obituary

                        
Raymond E. “Ace” McCormick, 58, of Newcomerstown, died Jan. 19, 2010, at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital. Raymond was born Nov. 28, 1951, in Salem Township, to the late Floyd W. and M. Lucile McCormick. He was a 1971 graduate of Newcomerstown High School and was employed with Casco Automotive Restorations, Roscoe Village, for the past couple of years. Prior to that, he was employed as a press operator with GenCorp, Newcomerstown, for over 32 years. He was a Sons of the American Legion member of Thomas Montgomery Post 431, Newcomerstown, and also belonged to the CBS van/truck organization. He enjoyed taking part in all outdoor activities, gardening, traveling, taking pictures, and attending truck-in van shows. Surviving are a son, Ross E. (Karla V.) McCormick, who is currently serving in the U.S. Air Force in Hungary; daughter, R. Michael (Bill B.) Swinehart of Newcomerstown; two grandchildren, Korrall V. and Walker J. Swinehart of Newcomerstown; sisters, Joann (Donald) Hannahs of Newcomerstown and Mary (James) Hunt of West Lafayette; brother, James G. “Jim” Cutshall of Newcomerstown; his former wife and friend, Rhonda L. Roe McCormick of Port Washington; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by brothers, Donald Dean McCormick and John McCormick; and nephews, Glenn R. Hunt and David Wayne Hannahs. To honor Raymond’s wishes, cremation will take place. Memorial services were held Jan. 23, 2010, at Ourant Funeral Home. Family requests memorials be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad St., Canfield 44406.
