Raymond Renicker obituary

                        
Raymond D. Renicker, 78, of Dover, died Feb. 15, 2010, at Hennis Care Center, Dover, following a brief illness. A son of the late Clarence Renicker and Marie Renicker-Copeland, Ray was born April 9, 1931, in Bowerston. He was a 1949 graduate of the former Bowerston High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army, where he worked as an MP during the Korean War. For more than 30 years, he served the local banking community through his affiliation with the former Reeves Bank, which later became Huntington National Bank. For many years during his career, he worked at the James-Fillmore location as the bank’s branch manager. As a musician, Ray enjoyed playing the piano and his Hammond organ. Additionally, he found great joy in his outings to play Bingo and visit Wheeling Island. Surviving are a daughter, Vicki (Duane) Winkler of New Philadelphia; son, Jeffrey Renicker formerly of Strasburg; his former wife, Edith Renicker of Dover; sister, Dorothy Custer of Bowerston; half-brother, Dave (Trish) Copeland of Scio; sister-in-law, Donna Renicker of Newark; two granddaughters, Shannon (Steve) Dunfee of Shreve and Darcie Winkler of New Philadelphia; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, George Copeland; and brother, Floyd Renicker. In keeping with Ray’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation will be conducted through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory, Dover.
