Reuben W. Mullet
Reuben W. Mullet, age 76 of Dundee, died Monday, June 4, 2018, at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia following a long battle with COPD and surrounded by his family.
Reuben was born Feb. 17, 1942, in Sugarcreek to the late Joas J. and Lydia (Pfister) Mullet. He retired from Reynolds Machine Shop and enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Reuben was a member of Barrs Mills Church of God and was known as “The Candy Man” by the children in the church. He served as an airplane mechanic for eight years with the Air Force during Vietnam.
Reuben is survived by his wife, the former Marcelline “Marcy” Delbert, whom he married on Aug. 22, 1963; his children, Steve (Joy) Mullet of Alabama and Valerie Mullet of New Philadelphia; his former son-in-law, Roudy West of New Philadelphia; four grandsons, Thomas Lacreta, Dakota West, Justin West and Joe Mullet; great-grandchild, Kayden Lacreta; his siblings, Vernon (Priscilla) Mullet of Beloit, Ohio, Robert (Brenda) Mullet of Sugarcreek, Nelson (Phyllis) Mullet of Arizona and Mabel (Junior) Raber of Sugarcreek; Sspecial friends Jolene Limbacher and Jim Conley; many nieces and nephews; and his cat, Teddy Bear.
In addition to his parents, Reuben is preceded in death by his brother, Monroe Mullet.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 9 at 11 a.m. at Barrs Mills Church of God with Pastor Gary Swogger officiating and military honors being conducted by the American Legion.
Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Barrs Mills Church of God, 4677 state Route 93 NW, Sugarcreek.
Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
