Rita H. Smith, age 86, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away at her home and entered eternal rest Saturday morning, June 29, 2013 following an extended illness. She was deeply loved and respected and will be greatly missed by many. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908. She was born on July 22, 1926 in Coshocton, Ohio and was the daughter of William R. Cox and Galena (Markley) Cox Henderson. On July 26, 1947 she married Kenneth G. Smith and he preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1986. She is survived by daughter, Vivian Smith of Millersburg, Ohio; son, Brent W. Smith of Millersburg, Ohio; and grandson, Cody W. Smith of Wooster, Ohio. Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth G. Smith; son, Kenneth E. Smith who passed away Nov. 9, 2008; two brothers, Frederick Neal Cox and William Cox; and one sister, LaDonna Hall.
