Robert H. Gisinger

                        
Robert H. Gisinger, 75, of Millersburg went home to be with the Lord while surrounded by his family and friends Sunday afternoon, July 20, 2014 at Aultman Hospital in Canton, following an extended illness. Robert was born Nov. 11, 1938 and was the son of Robert G. (Margaret) Gisinger and Bessie (Bud) Trussel. On Oct. 4, 1959 he married Carol Ann Kiner and she survives. Robert had worked 15 years for Regal Ware of Wooster, was a chef at the Village Restaurant and at the Elk’s Club, worked at Millersburg True Value for 15 years and for the last four years drove an Amish taxi service. Robert attended Freedom Fellowship in Apple Creek. He spent countless hours in prayer with the Lord, he loved to serve and praise him. Robert enjoyed singing, reading, gardening and interior design. He loved Christmas and decorating for it. Surviving in addition to his wife, Carol are four children, Sherri Spangler of Millersburg, Terry Gisinger of Coshocton, Sheila (John) Mays of Millersburg, and Angela (David) Crist of Millersburg; seven grandchildren, James (Deidra) Spangler, Jeremy Spangler, Tyler (Heather) Mays, Lacey Mays, Tory Kotewicz, Taryn Kotewicz and Zachariah Kotewicz; three great-grandchildren and one on the way; stepmother, Margaret Gisinger of Newark; brothers and sisters, Ted (Peggy) Gisinger of Orrville, Sharon (John) Mackey of Holmesville, Linda (Larry) Harter of Millersburg, Rex Trussel of Millersburg, Rocky Trussel of Shreve, and Phyllis (Mike) Van Dyke of Newark; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Bessie; his stepfather, Bud Trussel; a brother, Mike Gisinger; a sister, Karen Shafer; and a daughter-in-law, Vicki Hall. A Celebration of Life service was held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Berlin Christian Fellowship, 5382 County Road 201, Berlin 44610 with Pastor Urie Hershberger officiating. Friends called from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial was at the Nashville Cemetery, Nashville. Arrangements were handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg. Family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Haven of Rest Ministries, 175 E. Market St., Akron 44308.
