Sarah Schlabach

                        
Sarah Schlabach, 88, of Sugarcreek, died peacefully Sept. 21, 2012, at her home. Sarah was born March 24, 1924, in Winesburg, to the late Dan D. and Barbara Yoder. She was a member of Sharon Conservative Mennonite Church. She and her husband, Ralph, wintered in Florida for 32 years, and she was known to be an excellent cook and seamstress. Sarah was married Feb. 6, 1947, to Ralph A. Schlabach. He died on Feb. 12. Surviving are children, Robert J. (Audrey) Schlabach of Sugarcreek, Ruby (Mike) Sommers of Sarasota, Fla., Mary (Dave) Kaufman and Willis (Ruth) Schlabach, both of Sugarcreek, Willard (Naomi) Schlabach of Sarasota, Fla., James A. (Ruth) Schlabach of Sugarcreek, Larry (Cindy) Schlabach of Chattanooga, Tenn., Linda (Dave) Beachy of Sugarcreek, Jason (Fern) Schlabach of Columbus, N.C., and Kristina (Ken) Miller of Middlebury, Ind.; 32 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Eli D. Yoder of Winesburg, Jake Yoder of Mt. Eaton, Anna Schlabach of Walnut Creek, and Clara Coblentz of Winesburg. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Iva Mast; and brothers, Roman Yoder, Albert Yoder, and Abe Yoder. Services were held Sept. 24, at Sharon Conservative Mennonite Church, with Pastor Ed Yoder officiating. Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery.
