Tammy Lynn Woods
Tammy Lynn Woods, age 50 of New Philadelphia, died peacefully, following a lengthy and hard-fought illness on Thursday, March 7, 2019, while in the care of Country Club Retirement Campus at Dover.
Born in Barnesville, Ohio on July 5, 1968, Tammy is the daughter of Larry Hoopingarner and Janice K. (Wayne) Matsel, all of Dennison.
Tammy was a graduate of Indian Valley High School and worked at the former Harts Retail Store, Flex Technologies at Midvale, Rubbermaid at Canton and as a secretary for Statewide Heating and Cooling. She was an avid NASCAR fan who loved following Tony Stewart. She was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed painting, crafting, baking and being outdoors.
Tammy enjoyed playing volleyball and softball, riding ATVs, and being with her family. She loved to be the center of attention and life of every family and friend gathering.
In addition to her parents, Tammy leaves behind her sons, Chris Woods and Johnny (Tonya) Woods, all of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Savanah, Shania and Spencer; her great-grandchildren, Lillie, Avery, Ryker and Ruger; and her beloved dog, Shorty.
Completing the family are her siblings, Larry (Janice) Steiner, Woody Hoopingarner, Tina Smitley and David (Mindy) Hoopingarner; many nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Nina (John) Campbell.
Tammy was preceded in death by a step-father, Myrel Russell.
All are invited to celebrate Tammy’s life during a memorial service led by Pastor Jimmy Stull on Saturday, March 16 at noon in the Uhrichsville Christian Fellowship Church, 132 Kutcham Drive, Uhrichsville. Immediately following the service, the family will greet guests in the church social hall during an open reception until 4 p.m.
