Theodore “Ted” Paul Schilling

                        
Theodore “Ted” Paul Schilling, 70, of Shelbyville, Ky., and formerly of Baltic, died unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 in Kentucky. He was born Dec. 2, 1942 in Dover to the late Curtis and Dorothy (Graef) Schilling. He was a graduate of Beach City High School and served in the Army as a helicopter mechanic with medical dustoff during the Vietnam War. He began working as a welder at Raven’s and Edward’s in Strasburg and in 1977 he started his own company, Ted’s Trailer Repair Inc. in Baltic and worked until his retirement in 2006. He was a life-time member of the Baltic American Legion and enjoyed fishing and hunting mushrooms. He is survived by his wife the former Linda Broughton whom he married in March of 2009. In addition to his wife and her family, he is survived by his children Mindy (Mike) Young of Millersburg, Brent Schilling of Atlanta, Ga. and Chad Schilling (Jolene Prentice) of Fresno and will be missed by his two grandchildren Jeff and Beth Young. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers Elaine (Roger) Shelt of Strasburg, Norman (Renee) Schilling of Baltic, Roy (Barb) Schilling of Ragersville, Rita (Larry) Haney of Uhrichsville and his ex-wife Janice Schilling of Baltic. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Bruce Schilling. The family had a Celebration of Life Reception on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. at the Baltic American Legion Hall. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
