Vita J. Moran, 80, of Dover peacefully went to her heavenly home Friday, April 18, 2014 at Community Hospice House with her daughters Melissa and Denise at her side, which was as she wished.
Born Vitantonia JoAnne Theresa Pace April 8, 1934 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Pace Sr. and Dorothy Pace.
Vita graduated from St. Joseph High School at Dover in 1953. She was a loving mother, grandmother and homemaker and a compassionate child care provider to many children through the years. Her greatest joy later in life came from caring for her grandchildren, attending their activities and events and joining them along with Melissa and Denise on outings and vacations.
Vita will be deeply missed by her family including her children, Denise (Kelly) Santille of Hopedale, Melissa (Dan) Slates of New Philadelphia, Michael Leach of New Philadelphia, RaeAnn (John) Calai of Millersburg; six grandchildren, Sara and Samuel Santille, Hunter, Haley and Emma Slates, and Jeremy Calai; three great-granddaughters, Kylie, Meredith and Madelyn; her brother, Joseph (Karen) Pace Jr.; a loving aunt, Margie Pace, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Vita was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Pace and a grandson, Joshua Calai.
A funeral mass celebrating Vitas life was held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia with Fr. Jeff Coning officiating. Interment was in the St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery at Dover. A reception followed in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends and family were invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover Monday from 4-7 p.m. with Christian Wake Services Monday at 3:45 p.m.
