Voter registration deadline nears
Monday, April 3 is the deadline to register to vote or change your name or address for the May 2 Primary Election. Residents can register at the Holmes County Board of Elections, located in the Clinton Street office building at 75 E. Clinton St., Suite 108, Millersburg. The Board of Elections office is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Registration forms also are available at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles or at the Holmes County District Public Library. You may change your address online, register online or print forms on the Board of Elections website at www.holmescountyboardofelections.com.
To vote, a person must be a United States citizen, be a resident of the county and precinct in which one plans to vote, be at least 18 years of age on or before the day of the general election, and have registered to vote at least 30 days prior to the election.
The May 2 Primary Election ballot includes Republican candidates for judge of the Municipal Court. Also appearing on the ballot will be renewal tax issues for the Village of Baltic and Triway Local School District and a local liquor option for Sunday sales at Wal-Mart in Millersburg West precinct.
