Dream League is open to all special needs athletes. It is a chance for kids and adults who would otherwise not have the opportunity to get out on a real baseball field to hit, catch, throw and circle the bases.

During the game each player will be assigned a buddy. This buddy will help the player to be the most successful runner, batter and fielder he/she can be.

Games will begin Wednesday, July 31 and run through Aug. 14 with 6:30 p.m. start times.

The field is located behind Barrs Mill Church of God at 4677 state Route 93 NW, 3 miles north of Sugarcreek. It is handicap accessible.

The baseball facility has a pavilion with a snack stand, handicap-accessible restrooms, a hitching rail and playground.

The games will be played with regular bats and helmets. The ball used will be a softer version of a baseball.

The games are set up for everyone to achieve, with no score and no outs. Every runner will get to experience the joy of moving around the bases and touching home plate as the game progresses.

There will be an awards banquet at the end of the season in which every player will receive an award.
