The Wooster High boys and girls swim teams both placed sixth at the Division I district meet at Cleveland State, but for 10 Generals — six girls and four boys — the season continues this weekend at the state meet, held at C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton.

For the WHS girls, Colleen Frantz finished third in diving and goes to Canton as the ninth-ranked diver in the state, while sophomore Alessandra Gerber will compete in three events after placing fourth in the 100 breast.

In addition to competing in that event, she will swim as part of two relays — with Ellie Hansen, Lauren Hershberger and Piper Udell in the medley relay and with Hershberger, Udell and Miley Green in the 200 free.

On the boys side, Michael Buchholz captured a district title in the 50 free, and he backed that up by also qualifying for state in the 100 backstroke.

Buchholz will also swim a leg on the 400 free relay, teaming with Jack Sindollar, Santiago Salazar and Aidan McMillan.
