Chaney takes title in Wooster, will now compete for district crown of Elks Hoop Shoot
0x4286c1800x428818700x42859690On Dec. 20, 2015, 9-year-old Arora Chaney placed first in the Elks National Hoop Shoot contest at The College of Wooster. Chaney, a third-grader at Killbuck Elementary, competed in the third- and fourth-grade competition after qualifying in Killbuck for the right to shoot some freebies at the next level.
At the COW, each shooter was given 25 shots and Chaney knocked down 14 of them to take the title over seven other participants. She was just 3-for-10 after the first round but came out on fire the second round making 11-of-15 for her winning score of 14.
Chaney will now travel to Sandusky on Jan. 10 to vie for the district championship at Sandusky High School.
