2009 proved to be another successful year for the Friends and Neighbors of Every Woman’s House Benefit Golf Scramble, held Aug. 3-4, at Mohican Hills Golf Course, in Jeromesville. With 36 ladies’ teams and 32 men’s teams registered this year, the event raised a total of $14,851, more than $900 more than last year’s total. Proceeds from the two-day tournament support Every Woman’s House, a non-profit agency that promotes healthy, non-violent families in Wayne and Holmes counties. Services, such as 24-hour emergency shelter, individual and group counseling and victim assistance, are available to victims of physical and emotional abuse or rape, regardless of race, national origin, sex, age, marital status or economic background. The Friends and Neighbors of Every Woman’s House, which provides additional funding for Every Woman’s House and helps promote awareness of its programs, would like to thank all donors, golfers and volunteers who participated in this year’s event. Those interested in participating in next year’s scramble can contact golf scramble committee co-chair, Tricia Pycraft, at tpycraft@ccj.com, or call 330-465-2422.
