Hiland press box to be named in memory of Gary Mast

Hiland High School will honor Gary Mast, a former East Holmes School District teacher, principal, bus driver and longtime scoreboard operator, by renaming the press box above the soccer field in his memory prior to the Hawks home game against Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (CVCA) on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m.
The dedication ceremony will take place on the field before the start of the boys game against the Royals, as Garys wife, Nyla Mast, and daughter, Stacey Egli, will be on hand to receive a placque in Garys honor.
The placque will be presented by Colin Mishler, former Hiland High School athletic director, and former East Holmes Superintendent Gary Sterret.
Gary Mast passed away unexpectedly last December.
