Hiland volleyball sweeps IVC South’s top honors
The Inter-Valley Conference released its all-conference football, volleyball and boys and girls cross country teams, and Hiland and Garaway had several athletes named to the teams.
Boys cross country
Garaway’s Nathan Money and Nic Palmer earned first-team honors. Seth Zimmerman and Carter Travis earned honorable mention accolades for the Pirates.
Girls cross country
Garaway’s Meghan Schwartz earned first-team accolades and Mya Wengerd honorable mention honors.
Football
Garaway swept the South Division’s top honors, as senior Jenson Garber was named Player of the Year and Jason Wallick was selected Coach of the Year for the third consecutive season.
Joining Garber on the first team were teammates Clayton Downs, Payton Keller, Wyatt Hershberger, Jackson Reifenschneider and Wyatt Wallick.
Garaway’s Brady Geibel, Ethan Kimble and Jake Miller were second-team picks, and Dillon Soehnlen earned honorable mention accolades.
Volleyball
Hiland swept the South Division’s top honors, as senior Ava Troyer was named Player of the Year and Kelly Miller was tabbed Coach of the Year.
Joining Troyer on the first team were teammates Ava Weaver and Haley Yoder and Garaway’s Morgan Schlabach.
Hiland’s Hallie Shetler and Garaway’s Jordyn Keim were second-team selections while Hiland’s Allie Beun and Garaway’s Morgan Ryan earned honorable mention accolades.
