By Mike Swanger The record-breaking snow has melted, the temperature is rising, and the daylight is longer, which means it is time for the race season to begin at Hilltop Speedway. Opening night will be Saturday, March 27, with Super Late Models, Tri State Modifieds, Street Stocks, Circle Track Mini Trucks, Mini Stocks, and the Mini Wedges, with the first race taking the green flag at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 3, will have an Easter Egg hunt for the kids before the regular races. The next week is another regular race night. The Sprints will roll into Hilltop Speedway on Saturday, April 17, as the Mini Trucks take the night off as the month of April will wrap up on the 24th with a regular show. Last season’s opening night winners were Rick Bond in the Super Late Models, Kevin Morehouse topped the Tri State Modifieds, Brandon Gardner won his first of a record- setting 11 wins in the Pure Stocks, the Mini Truck winner was Brandon Craver and the Mini Stock feature was claimed by Andy Parks. Many ideas are still in the planning stages for the 2010 season, so check out the Web site at www.hilltopspeedway.org for the latest information and get ready to get your Saturday night thrills on the hill at Hilltop Speedway.
