Knights eke out win over Triway
The Knights got a pair of wins in singles and a win at second doubles secured a 3-2 triumph over Triway, Wednesday, May 5.Fighting gusting winds and quality opponents, the singles matches were all hard-fought affairs.
Triway's Tyler Flickinger hung on for a 5-7, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 triumph over Danny Nelson at first singles in a marathon match.
Brendan Lynch fell 6-2 in the first match against Daniel Doan, but rebounded with a 6-3, 6-0 win to finish the season with a 14-0 record in singles action.
Michael Anthony pulled out a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Michael Anderson.
Parker Abraham and Collin Galbraith teamed up for a 6-1, 6-3 win at second singles to secure the win for West Holmes.
"After starting out 3-5, we finished 5-1 to end at 8-6 overall," West Holmes coach Jason Otto said.
The Titans' other win was by Kyle Starkey and Andrew Tarutani, who defeated Rachel Koch and Ricky Guerra 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.
The Knights JV won 3-2.
