Knights sweep Dalton Quad
Both the West Holmes boys and girls teams dominated the field at the Dalton Quad cross country meet Tuesday, Sept. 29, in Dalton.With 33 runners competing in the boys race, Jared Zollars came out on top, clocking in at 17:45, more than a minute ahead of third-place finishing teammate Cully Gordon, who clocked in at 19:00. Matt Stonebrook was next at 19:08, followed by Tim Young in sixth at 19:55 to round out the scoring for the Knights. Tuslaw finished second and Dalton third. Kidron Central Christian did not have enough boys competing for a team score.
Taylor Eliot (11th, 20:50), Andrew Wolff (15th, 21:00) and Kole Flinner (18th, 22:08) also ran for West Holmes but did not score.
Macy Adkins won the girls race, clocking in at 21:36 to lead the Lady Knights to victory.
Nichole Peterman finished fourth in 22:42 and Lorraine Strouse placed eighth in 23:18 to lead West Holmes. Bethany Molnar also finished in the top 10 in 10th at 23:26, and Miranda Hostetler finished 14th in 25:51 to round out the scoring.
Tuslaw ran second, followed by Central Christian and Dalton. There were 29 girls running in all.
Lauren Evans (16th, 26:51) and Logan Huffman (19th, 27:31) also competed for the Lady Knights.
