The Lady Knights received a wake-up call after visiting Mansfield Senior took it to them in the first half of their Ohio Cardinal Conference clash Thursday, Feb. 4, in the Dungeon at West Holmes. The Tygers jumped out to a 15-8 lead after the first quarter and built their lead to 25-15 at intermission. From that point on, however, it was all West Holmes, as the Lady Knights stormed out of the locker room in the second half to shut down Mansfield and pull out a 42-39 triumph. Playing the smothering defense that is the team’s trademark, and making the most of the Mansfield mistakes, the Lady Knights outscored their guests 18-6 in the third quarter to take control of the contest, and then hung on down the stretch. Paige Asche pumped in a trio of 3-pointers on her way to a team-high 12 points. She was the lone West Holmes player to score in double figures. Lindsey Arnold added eight points and seven assists to go along with four steals, leading the defensive charge in the second half. Lindsy Snyder scored six points and ripped down eight rebounds. Jasmine Troyer chipped in five points, Shelbie Henderson and Justice Wright added four points apiece, and Rachelle Morrison added a 3-pointer to round out the offensive. The Tygers got 19 points and 10 rebounds from Racheal Mahan.
