Shelbie Henderson sparked the West Holmes offense and Kayla Boals was in control on the pitcher's mound, leading the Lady Knights to their first-ever win over Lexington, a 6-1 victory Wednesday, May 19, at Lexington.

Henderson homered and had a push bunt hit.

"Shelbie Henderson had a huge night at the plate with a two-run homer and a push bunt base hit," said West Holmes coach Jaime Chenevey. "Our defense was solid and Kayla Boals threw her heart out on the mound, toying with a perfect game through the sixth and ending with a two-hitter."

Boals struck out seven without walking a batter. She surrendered a solo home run in the seventh inning for the lone Lexington tally.

"This was our first win against Lex in OCC play... ever," said Chenevey. "I am so proud of the girls."

West Holmes improved to 9-15 on the season with the win, 7-6 in the OCC.
