Rainstorm causes race cancellation at Hilltop

By Mike Swanger Mother Nature waited until the gates were open to let loose with a shower but the Wardell’s Hilltop Speedway crew held on to wait out the first rain. As the track was being run in, a heavier shower hit at 5:30 p.m. After waiting for this rain to pass, the sun came out, but before anymore track prep could be started, the skies opened up for the third time at just after 7 p.m., and the race program had to be called for the night. All six classes of cars will be back Saturday night, May 29, for a full program including the Dash for Cash races. All wrist bands may be used for the next two weeks.
