Season winding down for area All-Stars
The East Holmes Little League Hometown All-Stars erupted for 23 runs in a romp over Holly Hills Gold on Friday.Mathew Chrapowicki tripled, doubled and finished 4-for-4 plus a walk and five RBI to lead the offensive charge in East Holmes’ 23-11 win.
Shane Kurtz was 4-for-5 with a double and four RBI. He was also the winning pitcher. Micah Brown was 3-for-4 with four RBI. Joey Gatti and Jeremy Yoder chipped in with two base hits for the winners.
Cody Smith struck out three on the mound for the East.
The East improved to 4-2 in District 4 pool play, qualifying for the playoffs.

West Holmes Red Little League Hometown All-Stars wrapped up their pool play with an 11-6 win over Tuscarawas County North. Adam Croup was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts. He also tripled to lead the West Holmes offense. West Holmes wound up 2-4 in District 4 pool play.

In the Little League Williamsport playoffs, Dover defeated Tuscarawas County North 10-0, and North Canton edged Canton 10-8. Dover faced North Canton on Monday for a berth in the State tournament, and North Canton stunned Dover 9-4 to gain the State tournament berth.

West Holmes Little League Williamsport Minors ran their record to 5-0 in District 4 pool play with a 12-2 triumph over Sandy Valley on Saturday. Trenton Bridenthal, Erik Hanna and Connor Roach combined to strike out three batters each. Roach was the winning pitcher.
Roach, Brandon DeHass and Bridenthal each tripled to lead the offensive assault, and Garett Ervin added a double for the winners.

West Holmes Hometown Minors defeated Fairless 18-13. Shane Jones was the winning pitcher, and also led the offense with a double.
The East Holmes Minors fell 15-3 against North Canton White.

The East Holmes 11-year-old Williamsport team dropped a 5-3 decision to Wooster, despite a home run and double from Justin Wagler. Adam Mullet was the losing pitcher.

The East Holmes Williamsport Minors defeated Tuscarawas County South 13-3 to wrap up their pool play with a 2-3 record.
Kurtis Yoder tripled, and Isaiah Yoder, Mitch Massaro and Gary Schlabach doubled. Braden Mast was the winning pitcher, striking out five.
