Strasburg rolls over Hiland

                        
A seven-run first inning, punctuated by Erin Metzger’s two-run homer over the center field fence ignited the offense for Strasburg and the visiting Tigers roared to a 13-4 triumph over Hiland Monday, April 12, in Berlin. Strasburg tacked on three more in the second and added a run in the third to make a winner of Kristen Smith, who took over for Carly Clark in the third inning and scattered four runs on nine hits. Clark fanned six through the first two innings. Kate Hershberger, Latrisha Yoder and Kayla Yoder had two hits apiece for Hiland. One of Latrisha Yoder’s hits was a double. Hershberger suffered the loss on the bump for the Lady Hawks. She was roughed up to the tune of 10 runs on 10 hits. She hit three batters. Virginia Keim worked the final five innings, giving up three runs on three hits and seven walks. She struck out three Tigers.
