West Holmes Knights finish fifth at home Invite, April 9
Brook Landon wins two events to lead Lady Knights

The Knights garnered six third-place finishes and a pair of fourths on their way to a fifth-place overall at the 15-team Knights Invite Saturday, April 9, at West Holmes.
Luke Morris had two thirds and a fourth, placing third in the 110-meter hurdles (16.39) and 200-meter dash (24.24), and a fourth in the long jump with a leap of 19-1.25.
Morris also ran a leg in the third-place finishing 4x200 relay team of Joey Alexander, Jeremy Anderson and Nick Wolff. The quartet clocked in at 1:36.
Wolff added a third in the 300-meter hurdles (44.50), and teamed up with Alexander, Brett McClain and Jared Zollars to place third in the 4x400 (3:40.31).
Zollars ran third in the 800 (2:03.82), and Wolff, Zollars, McClain and Grant Strouse teamed up to take third in the 4x800 (8:45.39).
Sloan Le took fourth and Grant Hay fifth in the pole vault, both clearing 11-6.
Other Knights placing were Anderson in the 200-meter dash (eighth, 25.61) and Alexander eighth in the 400-meter dash (55.06).
Indian Valley ran away with the team title, scoring 110 points. Coshocton was a distant second at 63, followed by Tusky Valley (61), Sandy Valley (57) and the Knights at 55.
On the girls side, Brook Landon posted a pair of wins, taking firsts in the shot put and the discus, but the Lady Knights finished sixth overall.
Landon threw the shot put 34-9.5 to win that event, and added a 129-3 to win the discus. Rebecca Chamberlin threw 102-10 to place fourth.
Nichole Peterman and Morganne Fair ran three-four in the 300-meter hurdles. Peterman clocked in at 51.89 and Fair finished in 52.76.
Peterman and Fair joined Jasmine Troyer and Kendra Martin to finish third in the 4x400 (4:29.66).
Fair, Martin, Tiffany Mullet and Peterman finished fifth in the 4x100 (56.22).
Haley Polen finished in a tie for fifth in the high jump, clearing 4-8.
Martin scored a sixth in the 200-meter dash (29.38) and Peterman added a seventh in the 100-meter low hurdles to round out the scoring for the West Holmes girls.
River View was the top team with 87.5 points, followed by New Philadelphia 73, Indian Valley and Dover 72, Tusky Valley 67 and West Holmes 52.5.
