Wooster sweeps awards in OCC baseball
                        

After winning the Ohio Cardinal Conference baseball championship, Wooster swept the individual honors when the OCC announced its All-Conference baseball and softball squads.

Senior shortstop Tyler Pettorini was named Player of the Year, sophomore Elisha Steiner was Pitcher of the Year and Generals skipper Steve Young was Coach of the Year.

Generals named to the first team were senior Chris Franks and sophomore Blake Bowen while junior Zach Harpster and junior Jack Williams were second-team picks. Honorable-mention selections from Wooster were juniors Drew Becker and Karson Coblentz.

The Generals finished 11-1 in the OCC, two games ahead of 9-3 West Holmes. Mt. Vernon was 8-4, Ashland and Lexington tied at 5-7, Madison was 4-8, and Mansfield Senior went 0-12.

In softball Mount Vernon was the champion at 11-1, taking individual honors. Player of the Year was Brooke Radermacher, and Pitcher of the Year was Emma Jones, both seniors. Ryan Pentz was Coach of the Year.

The lone Wooster player to make the first team was senior pitcher Taryn Welty. Sophomore Paige Becker was a second-team pick. Generals on honorable mention were sophomore Hannah Chupp and freshman Tori Pettorini.

Mount Vernon went 11-1 in OCC play, one game in front of 10-2 Lexington. Ashland was third at 9-3, followed by Madison at 6-6, Wooster at 4-8, West Holmes at 2-10 and Mansfield Senior at 0-12.
