Wilkshire Golf Course was recently awarded the honor of Golf Course of the Year by the Ohio Golf Course Owners Association. The OGCOA recognized Wilkshire Golf at their November meeting, giving the award in recognition of course quality, exceptional management and staff as well as significant contribution to the community and golf industry in Ohio. “I am very proud of the award that Wilkshire Golf has received. We have spent over four decades. In particular the last two years focused on providing our customers with the best experience possible, from a well-groomed golf course to friendly staff and exceptional service,” said John Easterday, owner/operator of Wilkshire Golf. Built in 1969 by Easterday and his father Melvin, Wilkshire Golf Course opened its first nine holes in July 1970 with only three golf carts. By the fall 1970 Wilkshire had opened all 18 holes along the Tuscarawas River in Bolivar.
