Spare Times Lanes in Millersburg sent 25 youth bowlers to the Pepsi District Competition at Hall of Fame Lanes in Canton in March, and had 14 bowlers advance to the State tournament. Bowlers were divided into divisions based on age, and bowled three games, with total pinfall determining who advanced to The Columbus Square Palace for the State finals. One district champion was crowned, as Katie Eiler won the girls 12-and-up scratch division, while Courtney Reed placed third. Also placing were Josiah Spears fifth place in the boys 11-and-under handicap division, while Emily Westfall was fifth in the girls 12-and-up handicap division. All placers were awarded scholarship money, and will be competing for additional prize money of $500 for first place at the State level.
