Singer/songwriter Jim Scott coming to UUFWC
Nationally known singer, songwriter and guitarist Jim Scott will bring his multimedia presentation, “The Year to Save the Earth,” to the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Wayne County, 3186 Burbank Road, Wooster, on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
“The Year to Save the Earth” is an experience featuring songs, poetry and projected images. The program’s message is a call for collective action.
Formerly a member of the Paul Winter Consort, Scott was composer of the “Missa Gaia/Earth Mass.” He has toured the world, recorded nine CDs of original music, published a growing line of choral works and created the “Earth and Spirit Songbook,” an anthology of over 100 songs of Earth. Scott received an NEA grant in 2023 to produce “The Year to Save the Earth.”
The event is open to the public with a suggested donation of $15 at the door. Scott offers invitations for people to join the singing during the program and to get involved in environmental action.
