My focuser is broken

My focuser is broken

Well, I've been absent from what I consider my "normal" life, or life as I knew it.

Changes in our family, my schedule because a part time/temporary job evolved into full time and not so temporary, add in the fact that we are in the process of purchasing a new home and sprinkle over the top of it all, daily life and all the dramas, joys and business that we all deal with, and you have a recipe for chaos.

What do you find yourself doing or not doing when you are in the midst of a swirling soup of issues to deal with? I gotta be honest with you. I tend to get quiet. Some may say I withdraw and people can misinterpret my separation from them. Sometimes, I am tempted to get too quiet and drop out of my normal communications with friends and family and it can be a real stretch for me to just keep on going as if all this stuff wasn't going on. During those times, I don't have wise words to say to anyone. During those times, I'm seeking wisdom and seeking ways to focus.

I was talking about this on my other blog, TheArtfulLife-tina.blogspot.com, and I asked this question; "How do you focus when your focuser seems broken?"

Some sweet and faithful blog friends and regular readers came back with…

"Maybe you are focusing on too many things at once?? Narrow your view to two things...when accomplished review your list....sometimes I get so overwhelmed I just stop....and that is not good. Take a brisk walk even if it is chilly... you will be refreshed." - Dianntha from OhioFarmGirl

"Lots of prayer, step by step, day by day. Exercise will help, if possible." - Karen from Elderberry Street

"Transition takes longer than we usually think so just take it easy and do what you can." - Kerrie from Sea Cottage

"You'll get back in the swing of things once this house is yours. In the meantime, relax and take a deep breath. You'll be fine! As I'm sure you do, I always ask God for guidance and help. Meditating helps as well. " - Liz Revit Art Blog

"I always come back to the one thing that helps me focus and that is taking it to God each day first thing. Somehow he works it all out and I can focus so much better with him in charge. I chose the word "Prioritize" for 2011 word because I believe God wants me to give up some good things so I can have his best." – LeeAnn from Encouragement is Contagious

All wonderful advice from people who took a moment to share how they cope with the not so unusual circumstances that is common to all of us as we just live our lives.

Hmm… narrow my view, pray, one thing at a time, relax and breath, meditate, take it to God, and prioritize. I am surrounded by great wisdom.
