ProVia has announced the promotion of Lonnie Hershberger to the newly created position of vice president of customer experience. Hershberger will become a member of the corporate leadership team and will begin serving in his new role on Jan. 1.

This position is being created to ensure the company continually improves the experience customers have come to expect from ProVia. Hershberger will be responsible for leading the customer service, installer certification program and field service teams and taking these customer-centric functions to the next level.

Hershberger began his employment in 1995 when the company (named Precision Entry at the time) purchased Sugarcreek Industries. Hershberger was hired to be the customer service manager for Sugarcreek Industries.

In 2000 Hershberger was asked to also serve as customer service manager for Precision Entry, so he split his days between the two locations. Over the years he developed each team and eventually brought them together at the Walnut Creek facility. Hershberger has been very successful at hiring the right people and helping them express ProVia’s mission: “to serve by caring for details in ways others won’t.”
