New Detroit-inspired pizza comes to downtown Dover
The Philosophy of Pie, the parent company of Park Street Pizza, announced the grand opening of its newest culinary venture, Dola Jean’s, specializing in Detroit-inspired pizza. Located in downtown Dover, Dola Jean’s officially opened its doors on Dec. 18.
Inspired by the pizza style of Detroit and named after a cherished family matriarch, Dola Jean’s aims to combine one-of-a-kind pizzas with a family-friendly atmosphere.
Each pizza is handcrafted with premium ingredients, featuring the crispy, caramelized edges and toppings that define Detroit-style pizza. Alongside the main menu, guests can expect shareable salads, house-made snacks and a selection of craft cocktails to complement their meals, all developed from scratch by co-founder Courtney Shanower.
“We’ve poured our hearts into creating a space where people can come together to enjoy incredible food and build memories,” said Rocky Shanower, founder of The Philosophy of Pie. “Dola Jean’s is a tribute to my grandmother, who served others with love, and our commitment to bringing something unique to the Dover community.”
Dola Jean’s is located at 113 W. Third St. in Dover, and regular operating hours will be Monday from 4-9 p.m., closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4-9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 4-10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Takeout will be available in person only (online ordering coming soon).
