New Towne Gallery gala reopening set for Oct. 5
After a lengthy time of being closed for renovations, New Towne Gallery is reopening. There will be a grand reopening Friday, Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
“It’s great to finally be back.”
Those were the words spoken by New Towne Gallery owner Mark Miller, who rejoiced recently in announcing the reopening of his gallery in Historic Downtown Millersburg.
In celebrating what has been an arduous but necessary renovation process, Miller said there will be a gala event that the public is welcome to enjoy.
“After a five-month renovation, New Towne Gallery would like to extend an invitation to visit our gallery in downtown Millersburg when we host a grand reopening event to celebrate the reopening of the gallery,” Miller said.
The grand reopening will take place Friday, Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
According to Miller, the gallery will run a 10% sale storewide on that day only and will be collaborating with several local businesses to celebrate the reopening and to promote the downtown community.
Customers who spend $100 or more at the gallery on Oct. 6 can then take a voucher to participating downtown businesses to receive an additional 10% off their purchases there. The list of participating HDM businesses includes The Cider Press, which is also celebrating its first anniversary that same week.
“You’ll have to try their ciders,” Miller said.
Other participants include Miller’s Creamery, for some delicious ice cream; The Mascot Syndicate, for art and plenty of nostalgic, whimsical gifts; Jack-Pot Pottery, which will extend its hours to 8 p.m., where it will present its fantastic ceramics and artwork; Troyer’s Sweet Shoppe, for delectable handmade candies; and Millersburg Coffee Co., which will be serving coffee at the gallery from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“We’re very excited to be opening the doors again at the gallery,” Miller said. “We’ll have new artwork available from formerly represented artists and from a number of new artists. You’ll find sculptures, paintings, ceramics, woodcarving, jewelry, textiles and more featured in the newly renovated gallery space.
“As we head into fall, also available are coffee and tea selections, inspirational books and all the essentials for cozy fall days at home. We hope to see you at the reopening event, but if you can’t make it, stop by anytime.”
The day’s festivities will culminate in music, with a live performance from local favorite band Ezra Jeffrey, who will be performing from 6-8 p.m. at the gallery.
Regular hours for New Towne Gallery from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. will resume starting Oct. 7.
