Longenecker Fellowship, 2200 Township Road 606, near Winesburg, will host its annual Auction and Harvest Festival on Saturday, Sept. 23.

                        

Longenecker Fellowship, 2200 Township Road 606, near Winesburg, will host its annual Auction and Harvest Festival on Saturday, Sept. 23.

Back for another year is the barbecue rib cook-off by backyard grillers. Come out and vote for your favorite. The day also will include an auction with a variety of items. There also will be a raffle with various prizes listed. Tickets are one for $10 or six for $50.

The day also will feature breakfast, a bake sale, a car show, homemade apple dumplings and homemade ice cream. All food items are by donation. Join on Sunday at 10 a.m. when the Lifeline will share the morning service.

The events scheduled include the following:

—Breakfast including all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage, sausage gravy with biscuits, and corn mush breakfast from 7-11 a.m.

—A bake sale from 7 a.m. until sold out.

—A car and truck show from 8 a.m. to noon with prizes awarded in various categories and Best of Show.

—A children’s auction at 10:30 a.m. with items for children and bidding by children with a parent.

—The rib cook-off and lunch stand from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. with barbecue by backyard grillers.

—The main auction (watch for updates of auction items on the church’s Facebook page: Longenecker Evangelical Anabaptist Fellowship) at 11:15 a.m.

After the main auction, there will be a raffle drawing.

Prizes include a CVA Optima 50-caliber muzzleloader, two round-trip bus tickets to Florida via Pioneer Trails, G Loomis IMX rod and Vanford 2500HG reel, two propane patio heaters, a 36-inch Blackstone griddle with four burners, Vortex Viper HD binoculars, a FlowerHouse hanging swing, a Weber Spirit S-315 grill, two porch rockers with a side table, and $500 cash.

There also will be themed baskets, with tickets at $1 or six for $5.

All proceeds from the festival will benefit the LEAF building fund, benevolent fund and youth group.
