Oak Grove Winter Bible Institute to feature Rev. Timothy Gakunju

                        
The leadership team of Oak Grove Mennonite Church announces the 2010 series of the Oak Grove Winter Bible Institute, Sunday and Monday, Feb. 14-15, with guest presenter Rev. Timothy Gakunju. Rev. Gakunju, affectionately known to many as Pastor Timothy, is a recent immigrant to the United States. Currently he is living in Cincinnati with his wife, Anne, and their four children, where he has just begun to serve as pastor of New Beginnings Fellowship. Pastor Timothy was formerly the pastor of Ruiru Christian Church, Ruiru, Kenya. He has been an active church planter, and was the founding director of Emanuel Health Center, Ruiru, Kenya. Rev. Gakunju earned a Master of Divinity degree from the Nairobi International School of Theology in 1997. He completed his undergraduate work at the Daystar University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Bible and education in 1993. In addition to his serving as pastor of the Ruiru Christian Church from 1993-2009, Rev. Gakunju has served the Christian Church International (formerly the African Christian Church of East Africa) in numerous leadership roles. A gifted communicator in English, Kiswahili, and Kikuyu, and a passionate follower of Jesus, Pastor Timothy has served on various mission teams in evangelism and church planting for the Christian Church International in Kenya, Uganda, Sudan, Congo, India, and the United States. Pastor Timothy will be developing the topic Joel: The Prophet in the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Feb. 14, and continuing the series at 7 p.m. both Sunday and Monday evenings.
