ReviveOHIO announces info gathering in Orrville
Revival activities in Wayne County are bringing support from a growing number of local believers and church congregations, according to local co-facilitators Chris Clark and Ron Amstutz.
A way to learn about how to share personal faith in Jesus Christ has been set for Sunday, July 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Orrville Baptist Church, 204 Bell Ave., Orrville.
The event will feature an informational gathering about an outreach week set for July 25-31, plus a time of worship.
Various pastors and other community members have been exploring this for more than a year and have now invited reviveOHIO to guide this initiative locally. Wayne County will be the 20th county in Ohio to follow through on this effort over the past nine years.
“We are seeing interest from believers in multiple churches who want to strengthen their capability to invite faith in Jesus in a natural, nonthreatening way with one person at a time,” Clark said.
“We are pleased to bring together believers from across our county to be one church, sharing one Gospel message with one person at a time,” Amstutz said, stating part of the ministry’s mission.
Recently, a weekend of events involved individuals and families from more than a dozen church congregations around the county. These were hosted at the Church of the Saviour, located just west of Wooster on U.S. 30.
Missionaries from reviveOHIO joined local believers for worship and coaching to share their faith at a Friday, June 20 training/outreach event.
On June 21, COS hosted a car and stunt motorcycle show, along with a food court and mini-fair provided by church staff, volunteers and various ministries working together.
On June 22 details of local revival activities were provided at a worship service.
Mark Burd, state director of reviveOHIO, said this approach calls congregations of believers throughout the county to come together as one church to share the Gospel message to one life at a time.
Burd also invited believers everywhere to join in 40 days of prayer and fasting leading up to the July 25 launch.
Ways to participate include the following:
—Explore the possibility of hosting one or more missionaries from outside the area for the week. This will only involve a place to sleep and shower in the morning. Meals and activities will be provided by the churches all day.
—Assist host churches with meal preparation, serving and cleanup for one or more meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) on Saturday, July 26 or on Monday through Thursday, July 28-31. These are for gatherings of believers who will worship together, train and go out to share the Gospel.
—Attend training and join in actual marketplace outreach in various locations around the county. Believers who have jobs and other responsibilities can join at times that fit their individual schedules.
—Be involved in discipling new and renewed believers in the weeks following outreach activities.
A registration form pops up for interested persons at www.reviveOH.com.
