Millersburg Grace Brethren Church has announced the performance of their eighth dinner drama theater, The Last Voyage of the SS Gigantic, a spoof on the hit movie Titanic. Performance dates are Friday, Nov. 6, and Saturday, Nov. 7, from 6-8:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy a four-course home-cooked meal and an entertaining evening aboard the SS Gigantic.
Millersburg Grace Brethren began their dinner drama theater in 2001 with a passion and desire to give people of all ages in the community an affordable evening and come away knowing that God loves them unconditionally and died for them so they might live with Him forever.
Whether its a family night out, a girls night out or a group of friends getting together to do something new, guests will enjoy themselves. The cast consists of volunteers from the congregation who enjoy acting. They devote a lot of their time to each performance with weekly practice times and line memorization. Each cast member adds his or her own personal touch to make their character believable. The actors obviously play a major part in the dinner theater, but without the church pulling together, it could not be performed.
With each dinner drama theater that is performed, the church transforms into the setting of the play. The sanctuary has been transformed into a French bistro, a courtroom, a mansion, a western hotel, a 50s diner and now a cruise ship. As visitors arrive at port, they will have their picture taken as a souvenir to remember the voyage and also enjoy appetizers and beverages and await the captains announcement to board the ship. Once on board, visitors will be seated and the voyage will begin. Complete table service will be provided to allow everyone to sit back and enjoy The Last Voyage of the SS Gigantic.
Tickets are $8.50 for adults and $4.25 for children 10 years and under. To get a boarding pass or for more information, call the church at 330-674-9540.
