Jennifer Holderman and Julia Rose, both of Orrville, are members of the Ashland University Women’s Chorus. Holderman is the daughter of Cynthia and Daniel Holderman and is majoring in middle grades education. Rose is the daughter of Pat and Randall Rose and is majoring in integrated science.The Women’s Chorus, directed by Stephanie Sikora, associate professor of music, provides women with an opportunity to study and perform choral literature written especially for treble voices and representing a variety of styles, eras, composers and languages. The chorus performs at a number of campus events, including the spring choral concert.
Deanna Blosser and Ryan Yoder, both of Dalton, are associate members of the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society at Ashland University. Blosser is the daughter of Richard and Jeanne Blosser and is majoring in toxicology. Yoder is the son of Jeff and Ann Yoder and is majoring in biology.
Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society is a society for students, particularly for undergraduates. It seeks to encourage scholarly attainment in this field of learning by reserving its regular membership for those who achieve superior academic records and who indicate special aptitude for and major interest in the life sciences.
Ashley Gardner, of Dalton, is a new initiate of Kappa Delta Pi at Ashland University. She is the daughter of Timothy and Lisa Gardner and is majoring as an intervention specialist in early childhood education.
The purpose of the group is to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to education and to promote development of worthy educational ideals. The group strives to enhance continued professional growth. Its activities include an annual college of education chicken barbecue, initiation ceremony and meetings on topics related to professional growth. Membership in Kappa Delta Pi requires a 3.2 grade point average and specific academic requirements.
