Bridge building winners named
The first-place award went to Matthew Pfeiffer from New Philadelphia High School.
The Kent State University at Tuscarawas engineering technology department held the Regional Bridge Building Contest for area high school students on Feb. 19.
Students participated from the following schools: Buckeye Career Center, Dover High School, Garaway High School, Indian Valley High School, New Philadelphia High School, Strasburg High School, Tuscarawas Valley High School and Union Local High School.
Nearly 250 bridges were submitted with 196 students participating. All students were given a participation award, and the first-, second- and third-place winners will compete in the international contest in Chicago.
The first-place award went to Matthew Pfeiffer from New Philadelphia High School, second place was awarded to Carter Zeedyk from Dover High School and third place was awarded to Dawson Williams from Tuscarawas Valley High School.
