Buckeye Career Center will host an in-person open house for area freshman and sophomore students and their family members on Thursday, April 15. This will be an appointment-only event from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Buckeye Career Center.

Interested students/parents can visit the school’s website to sign up for the event. Once on the open house page, participants will find a registration link that will redirect them to SignUp.com. Registrants will then have the option to select up to five labs to schedule for appointments.

Three appointment slots will be available for all labs, offered at 5:30 p.m., 5:45 p.m., 6 p.m., 6:15 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 6:45 p.m., 7 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. Once the three slots are full, that appointment time will show as closed.

Each lab visit will require a separate appointment. Participants are encouraged to book their lab visits consecutively if possible. Again, participants must register in advance to attend. Facial coverings should be worn at all times, and social distancing guidelines will be enforced to protect the safety and well-being of BCC staff and visitors.

Participants also are asked to limit the number of guests they bring with them. BCC will provide an area in the cafeteria to complete paper or online applications for the 2021-22 school year for those still wishing to apply.

Buckeye Career Center believes it is important to provide potential students and their parents with a chance to meet instructors in person.

“Parents and students typically use this event as a way to further explore the labs, talk to instructors and even apply for the next school year. We want students to still be able to do this during the pandemic while keeping everyone’s health and safety in mind,” public relations coordinator Shyanne Carroll said. “We feel using this scheduling tool will allow us to do that while also maintaining a limited number of people in our building.”

In addition to this event, BCC’s Virtual 360-degree Tour is now available on the school’s website. It can be found on the homepage by clicking the blue Virtual Tour button. Anyone interested in applying for next school year is invited to do so on the website or by visiting his/her school counselor’s office.

More information on the event can be found at www.buckeyecareercenter.org/OpenHouseRegistration.aspx or by calling Carroll at 330-339-2299 ext. 1241 or emailing scarroll@buckeyecareercenter.org.

Buckeye Career Center is located at 545 University Drive NE in New Philadelphia.
