Dover Public Library events include outdoor storytimes
Dover Public Library will take books outdoors this summer. Claire Kandle, youth services manager, will be at Dover Pool during the 2 p.m. swim break to read to kids on Thursday, June 7 and Thursday, June 21.
Syrena Troyer, library assistant, will be at Dover Pool on Tuesday, July 17 and Tuesday, July 31 during the 2 p.m. swim break.
Kandle will bring her guitar for a sing-a-long and stories on Saturday, July 14 at 2 p.m. at Softies, 717 N. Wooster Ave., Dover. The first 20 kids to register for the program will get a coupon for a free small cone.
Kandle also will kick off the community event, Down by the River, on Saturday, July 21 at the Canal Dover Park from 2-4 p.m. with a story.
Family storytimes for all ages are every other Tuesday in June and July in the castle area of the children’s department at 10 a.m.
A nature storytime will be in the community room on Wednesday, June 20 at 10 a.m. There also will be two sessions of traditional storytimes on Wednesday, June 6 and Wednesday, July 25.
“We have a variety of options for storytimes this summer including special guest storytellers,” Kandle said. “They are all posted online on our event calendar, and I hope everyone can find a time to attend that will fit their busy schedule.”
