FFA team places in state competition

                        
The Landscape & Plant Technologies nursery/landscape team won 11th place out of 38 teams at the FFA state nursery/landscape competition in Columbus recently. The team missed the state finals by eight points. Team members were Trevor Atwood of Wooster, Robin Bryant of Triway, Amy Miller of Dalton and Justin Starn of Orrville. The contest included six tests over plant and tool identification, insects, diseases, irrigation and a landscape plan. The students also visited a weed management class presented by The Ohio State University Extension Service, a trade show, and a job fair. Landscape & Plant Technologies instructor is Gregg Gillespie.
