Free preschool available through Head Start program
Families may be eligible for free preschool through the Kno-Ho-Co-Ashland Community Action Commission’s Head Start program. Head Start is a federally funded income-based program designed for children age 3-5.
The program is now accepting applications for the upcoming school year at all Holmes and Ashland county centers. Children receiving SNAP, TANF or SSI or those in foster care are automatically eligible.
Head Start offers both part-day and full-day classes and provides breakfast, lunch and snacks daily. Teachers hold degrees in early childhood education or child development.
Site locations include Ashland, Ashland West, Glenmont, Loudonville, Millersburg and Sullivan. Transportation is available at some centers.
There are four ways to apply:

—Go to the Kno-Ho-Co-Ashland CAC Head Start Facebook page and click Sign Up.
—Scan the program’s QR code to access and submit an application online.
—Call 330-377-4567 to apply over the phone.
