L-P BOE approves several coaching contracts
The Loudonville-Perrysville Board of Education held a regular meeting in the Loudonville High School cafeteria on Sept. 11.
The board did the following during the meeting:
—Approved the August minutes.
—Approved the August financial report and the payment of bills.
—Approved the certificated plan document, which adopts a Section 125 flexible fringe benefits plan for the employees of the Loudonville-Perrysville Exempted Village School District to be effective Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2024.
—Approved nine grant funds for fiscal year 2024.
—Approved 22 permanent appropriations for fiscal year 2023-24.
—Approved a bid of $17,362 from J & B Classical Glass for the removal and installation of doors at the LHS Field House.
—Approved a bid of $17,404.12 from GoGuardian for GoGuardian Safety and Security and GoGuardian Beacon.
—Authorized the superintendent to establish policies and procedures in response to pandemic/endemic developments.
—Approved the employment of Trevor Ritz as a long-term building substitute personnel for the 2023-24 school year.
—Approved Brock Weiser and Jodi Stout as substitutes for classified positions through the end of July 2024.
—Approved Brock Weiser, one-year temporary substitute multi-age pre-k through 12th grade license, and Hannah Baker, one-year temporary substitute multi-age pre-k through 12th grade license, as substitutes for certified positions for the 2023-24 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.
—Approved the employment of Gerald Lewis, bus driver (midday route); Dennis Myrwold, bus driver (midday route); and Greg Sulser, bus driver (mid-morning route, Wednesday/Thursday), on one-year contracts for the 2023-24 school year retroactive to Aug. 28.
—Approved the employment of students Ryan Boyd, Logan Garman, Anorah Nicholas, Maria Renner and Logan Taylor in the work study program for the 2023-24 school year.
—Approved the employment of Trevor Ritz, high school math teacher, for the 2023-24 school year, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.
—Approved the employment of Mary Murray, cafeteria aide, and Anna Galleher, paraprofessional aide, retroactive to Aug. 21, contingent upon state certification and/or requirements applicable to the position.
—Approved 12 group members to be paid $27.50 per hour for attending the ELA or Sonday Phonics three-hour training session on Aug. 11.
—Approved the employment of nine Loudonville High and four C.E. Budd School teachers to serve as Extended Student Academic Time instructors.
—Approved the following supplemental contracts for the 2023-24 school year: Kelly Shetler, elementary Student Council; Tyler Bates, head high school girls basketball coach; Whitney Snyder, National Honor Society advisor; Matt Cottrill, high school Student Council advisor; Aimee Ross, senior class advisor; Megan Sellers, PBIS at Loudonville High; and Mindy Baker, PBIS at McMullen Elementary.
—Approved the following pupil activity contracts for the 2023-24 school year: Tessa Shetler, PBIS at Loudonville High School; Ryan Thatcher, head high school wrestling coach; Danielle Clady, head high school basketball cheerleading coach; and Misty Santarossa, head high school swimming coach.
—Approved 24 building leadership teams, 11 district leadership team and three central office stipends for the 2023-24 school year.
—Approved stipends for Chris Harris, Loudonville High/Junior High; Sherry Hannan, C.E. Budd; and Lara Spreng, R.F. McMullen, to secure substitute teachers for the 2023-24 school year.
—Approved 17 field trip requests.
—Approved extended days for the 2023-24 school year for Angela Spreng (15), Jennifer Baynes (six), Dave Lance (20), Kristen Thiebaud (10) and Tina Bowen (10).
—Approved an Appleseed Community Mental Health Center service agreement for school-based therapist services with Loudonville-Perrysville Exempted Village School District for the 2023-24 school year. Payment will come out of wellness funds for school counseling services.
—Approved music funding grant for the 2023-24 school year totaling $43,950.
—Accepted the following donations: backpacks and school supplies to McMullen from Dometic, $25 gift cards offered to teachers from the Loudonville-Perrysville School Foundation, school supplies and water bottles from VFW Perrysville, school supplies from Stake’s Shortstop, school supplies from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Perrysville, and $150 for the budget challenge in the financial class from Park National Bank.
—Accepted the resignation of Bryan Coey, custodian at C.E. Budd School, for the purpose of retirement. Tentatively, Coey’s last day will be Nov. 1 but not to exceed Nov. 30.
—Approved a pupil activity contract for Jim Bates, head high school boys basketball coach, for the 2023-24 school year.
—Approved the Loudonville High baseball and softball teams attending The Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina over spring break (March 24-28, 2024).
—Approved four, two of which are tentative, overnight wrestling trips for approximately 12-16 students and two to three coaches.
