Dover High School and Dover Middle School students put their personal imprint on the new high school last week with a beam-signing on the front lawn of the current building.

Students grade 8-12 signed their individual names and graduation years in school-color ink on a beam that will be placed in the choir room of the new high school building.

"This small piece of history will serve as a visible display to commemorate this very special time for Dover Schools and its community and to enable the students to connect the present to the future as generations of students will get to see this beam within the walls of the new building," said Carla Birney, Dover City Schools superintendent. "Dover Schools wants to thank Hammond Construction and Dover Tank and Plate for helping to make today memorable and exciting for these young people."
