Zach Davis Scholarship honors legacy
The legacy of Zachary Davis is at the heart of the foundation named in his honor. The Zachary Davis Memorial Foundation was created after his death by his mother Anita Davis.
The foundation wants to help people struggling with addiction.
“He told me if he could help just one person say no to drugs, he would have,” Anita Davis said. “As the foundation, we are working to make a difference and stop others from choosing a life filled with peril by supporting youth who are furthering their education in a drug abuse-related field.”
In addition, the foundation provides drug abuse prevention education. It also works to support positive youth-centered activities throughout Tuscarawas County.
Last year thanks to the generosity of the community and the success of several fundraisers, the Zachary Davis Memorial Foundation was able to award five $1,000 scholarships to local students.
“We award scholarships to seniors in Tuscarawas County who are looking to further themselves in an addiction recovery-related field,” Davis said.
This year as part of that mission, the foundation is fielding applications for $1,000 scholarships given to five seniors in Tuscarawas County.
“It is so important to us to support the future, helping them to make a difference,” Davis said. “These scholarships are one way we are making that happen.”
To be considered, an application must be submitted by April 15. Applications are available on the website at www.zachsstory.org.
