Peter Voderberg, currently serving as the chief of BroadbandOhio, an office within the Ohio Department of Development dedicated to bringing high-speed internet service to every resident in the state, will speak at the Connection Conference and Event Center, 1034 Country Club Drive, Wooster, on May 20 at 11 a.m.

Guests will receive a crash course in broadband and learn more about broadband efforts in the state, opportunities to improve Wayne County’s broadband, pilot projects, the Ohio Residential Broadband Expansion Grant, and next steps from the state and federal governments.

A resident of Reynoldsburg, Voderberg is serving in the office created by Gov. Mike DeWine to be the access point for both industry and the public for coordinating the state’s broadband efforts, as reflected in the Ohio Broadband Strategy.

The event is sponsored by Wooster Community Hospital, MCTV and the Wayne Economic Development Council. For more information call the WEDC at 330-264-2411.
