On Feb. 9 Gerber Lumber & Hardware revealed a new, updated logo to represent a revitalized direction for the longtime Ohio-based company.

The new logo builds upon the company’s former logo. It features the same font that was used in the previous logo, though the coloring of the letters has been changed from yellow to red. Instead of a red diamond background with images of stacked lumber, the new logo features a tan rectangular background that imitates the look of wood planks. Perhaps most importantly to local community members, the name remains the same.

The updated logo comes on the heels of 2021’s announcement of an ownership transition from Steve and Eldon Gerber to Steve Miller and Kyle Simmons. Miller and Simmons each have relationships with Gerber Lumber & Hardware that go back for decades. As such, they have a firsthand understanding of the company’s culture and the importance of continuing its values, even under new leadership.

While the logo may be new, Gerber Lumber & Hardware will continue to prioritize the values it was founded on in 1901. These principles have guided the company as it operated under the Gerber family’s leadership to become a trusted resource for area residents and contractors during its first 120 years. Under the leadership of Miller and Simmons, these principles will remain a key part of how the company operates.

From helping with material lists for DIY projects and making product recommendations to delivering products to the worksite, Gerber Lumber & Hardware is focused on making any project as easy and straightforward as possible.

Thus far, the transition for Gerber Lumber & Hardware’s employees, customers and vendors has been seamless. While the new logo will provide a new appearance around the store, the company will continue to build on the legacy of original founder E.P. Gerber and his descendants to ensure the future.
