Leadership Orrville meets to tour J.M. Smucker house
Leadership Orrville held its October gathering at Smucker’s, which included a tour of the historic J.M. Smucker House.
The day started with Jesse Walker of Eagle Advisor Group leading the class through the Five Voices program, developed by GiANT Worldwide. The program helps participants communicate more effectively with others while discovering ways to overcome challenges in the workplace.
Bruce Hendrick, founder and president of Building Trust, guided the class through various leadership exercises and techniques while Dr. Heather Howley, director of regional campuses for the University of Akron Wayne College campus, shared about leadership through the lens of Stoicism.
The day wrapped up with Carrie Foy of Smucker’s leading a session on emotional intelligence and provided real-life exercises for attendees to learn how to navigate difficult workplace conversations. Foy also provided a historical overview of the Smucker Company.
Leadership Orrville is a nine-month initiative of the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored by Farmers National Bank. This program furthers the OACC’s mission to connect people with the resources to support business growth and the broader community.
